10. What is the difference between conventional pasta and organic pasta? Why should I choose organic products?

Organic pasta is pasta produced from organically grown durum wheat semolina.

The term "organic" describes those products produced without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers or other hormones. For a product to be organic it must fulfil very specific and strict conditions, both at the stage of production and cultivation, as well as during processing and standardization. Continuous monitoring of these stages is indeed the main reason for the increased food safety offered by the final product when it reaches our table.

The packaging of organic products must bear the special certification mark of the organization that monitored all stages of production, along with the special certification number.

The HELIOS Pasta Industry offers the widest range of organic pasta produced in Greece certified by DIO (Inspection and Certification of Organic Products). Read more...
